Planning and Process

The city has worked hard to engage residents and listen to experts throughout the process of creating plan that invests in community safety, wellness and connectivity.

Over the past several years, Minnetonka has taken steps to plan for significant community investments. The city has identified local needs, sought resident feedback and kept residents informed as planning has moved forward.

How This Plan Was Developed

  • A variety of engagement tools were used.
Annual community surveys, public meetings, stakeholder sessions, community events, an interactive feedback map and social media outreach all helped ensure a broad range of resident voices were heard.

  • The city conducted thorough assessments.
Thorough assessments of Minnetonka’s fire stations, trails, the Opus area and The Marsh have been conducted over the last several years to help identify facility and community needs and ensure these amenities and services continue to serve residents safely and effectively.

  • Residents helped shape the city’s priorities.
Resident feedback has informed the city’s goals and priorities that will guide future improvements.

  • The city is committed to listening to residents.
We believe the best projects come from collaboration. Every step of planning has been shaped by community feedback and a shared desire to create spaces that serve residents today and in the future.

The conversation will continue.

As planning advances, Minnetonka will keep residents informed and provide opportunities to learn more and ask questions.
